Where is the Verde Valley?

The Verde Valley is located north of Phoenix and south of Flagstaff in northern Arizona. The valley has a rich pioneer history, mild climate, and serene desert beauty. Mountain goats, coyotes, deer, javelina (wild pigs), grey heron and a host of other native birds call the Verde Valley home.

This fertile valley with its slow moving Verde River was also the ancient home of the Sinagua Indians and later the Apache. The remains of their pueblos,cliff dwellings and petroglyphs, date back to early 1200 AD, can still be seen today.

At the center of this large valley and just minutes from The Highlands Resort is scenic Sedona with its Red Rock views, surpassed only by the Grand Canyon for its beauty. There is also a thriving wine industry with numerous wineries offering daily wine tasting.
